Default Indonesia/Argentina Exhaust Manifold

I was digging through my grandpa's stuff the other day when I found a exhaust manifold that had raised lettering around the rear downward bend that says "Indonesia/Argentina". Do I have something here? I've personally never seen one before, but that's not saying a whole lot.

I'm not positive but I read in a post here that the late 31 style, with the ridge where it turns down for the muffler was reproduced in Argentina. Ford wouldn't have put anything but his logo or a part # on anything.

in the 60s and 70s Argentina produced many parts for the model A,they were very poorly made

I am pretty sure those were manufactured by Tommy Trailor when he owned Specialized. Be careful and don't bump it very hard or you will have a "split manifold". --and not type like the old hot rodders used either!!

I bought one years ago,it might have been from Ricks. It had a split on the top down the whole length of it,looked like it had opened up when it cooled down from being cast.I called whoever I bought it from, they told me to throw it away and they sent me another one. That one is still going fine. Those were marked made in Argentina.I still have a couple of new ones around, bought from the estates of A owners.I also bought five of the manifolds sold by Steiner tractor. They were $45.each,and I heard a lot of complaints on how they fit,but every one I bought fit good. They are a replacement, not meant to be an accurate reproduction.

The actual markings read "Industria Argentina".....I had one on my '28 Phaeton. Turns out the exhaust ports were mis-aligned and not providing good enogh exhaust. I sold it last year when I had my engine rebuilt. Stick with parts made in USA........any repro foreign junk is JUNK!

I still have one on one of my cars. Think I got it from JC Whitney in the 60's. I ground the raised letters off and then it didn't look bad. I have driven that car 10's of thousands of miles with it and no problem.

My Victoria came from Argentina, gearbox housing had Industria Argentina cast on side. gears inside looked great and it ran very quietly.
