Default Left over part???

So got this part that was in the box marked interior parts. Most of the parts ion there have to do with the dash and pedal/steering. I have no idea where this goes of if it is just some left over from something else. Any one have a idea where this bracket goes?

Whatever it is, it is not a Courier factory original part anywhere on the car.

Kultulz nailed it. I was thinking off-brand starter bracket too at first, but Kultulz has a sharp eye and got it right.

Looks like a part for a '57/58 brake pedal bracket that goes under the dash.

Well I'll be, it says it's for a '56. Neither of my '55's ever had that part on the bracket. Maybe they didn't add it till '56, but I don't see why you'd need it. There's plenty of bolt holes front and back to stabilize it under the dash.

Ford put that little bracket there for a very good reason.
Ford Don't just through brackets anywhere, without a good reason.
Do NOT run without it, that bracket adds a lot of strength
in stabilizing that clutch/brake bracket assembly.

Dave, did you ever hear of that story about this man who rebuilt his motorcycle and ended up with one small part left over?
He discovered where it went after his first ride: it was the clip for the Master Link!

I sent you a PM today.
