Default 35 waterpumps

I have a number of in the head water pumps and there seems to be two styles? one has four blades on the empellor and the other style has three blades that have some pitch on the blades. Any idea if one is better than the other. Also did ford make a truck pump with a dual pulley?

All the original impellers I've seen were the 4 blade type. So, I can't say if the 3 blade impeller was aftermarket or Ford. Ford did make the pumps with dual pulleys for certain truck applications.

27TV8-

I also have a couple of three blade '35-'36 water pumps. This maybe an "urban legend" but I have been told by a couple of knowledgeable sources that these pumps were an after-market item used to reduce the flow of water being pumped into the radiator in an effort to prevent surging and spillage out the overflow. They were "claimed" to have worked.
