Default Adjusting wheels straight ahead

Is there a good method to get wheels straight so drag link can be adjusted to center steering wheel. This would be after toe in is set.

Yeah. Drive down a straight road and make a note of the angle of the steering wheel. Put a mark at the top or a piece of tape if it helps. Just make sure you can reproduce that angle.

Get the car up on stands or however you intend to work on it and put the steering wheel back at that position.

The wheels are now straight ahead.

Now, without moving the wheels, drop the drag link and straighten the steering wheel. Adjust the drag link until it just drops back in. Reconnect the drag link and all should be well. You might need to make a small adjustment, but it should get you 99 per cent there.

Mart.

First try lock to lock and see how close you are. The mid position is were you adjust the middle sweet spot. Now for the bad if you are way off, you need to reposition the worm and take apart. Ford has key and only goes on one way. Best to live with it.
You could maybe change steering wheel with kit with splines. Most important you want to turn same on each side needed at car shows.

Thanks Mart. It drives pretty centered now. I will find a road with not much camber on a calm day abd take note. George steering box is already set up for high point on gear centered.

John,
Mart has offered good advice.
It won't take much, perhaps just one revolution, of a tie rod end to center the steering wheel.
It may take you one or two attempts but it's easy ... just follow Mart's suggestion and you'll get it!

I trust the front chassis parts are "tight"? IE no worn tie rods?
