Military surplus indicates a possible wartime production since most surplus was generated during that time frame but I don't know how it is considered as Heavy Duty other than what appears to be a ball bearing rear plate. It certainly doesn't have a truck like multiple sheave pulley. It also has the two terminals on the side when a lot either had wires or one terminal on the side. It's not listed in any of my parts catalogs so it was likely a later replacement for that type of front mount plate. 11T indicates truck but it would be for V8 engines. The G-series 6-cylinder trucks are different. Military contracts may have used a new part number that the civilian vehicles didn't get. You don't often see a data plate on them either.

Being an 11T part number it is 41 Truck. many differences to the 40 Car.

Rear sealed bearing, stamped steel front pulley with large cooling fins are some differences I see.

Ford did put out a high output generator for taxis and Police cars. It looked pregnant, i.e.
it was fatter on the top and bottom sides. Can't find the book where it is pictured right off or I'd give you a part number. It did not look like the stock generator.

Lawson is right. The higher output generators are big old boat anchors. Ford eventually went to the big Leece-Nevillle alternators.

I put one of Ford's high output generators on my 36 Club Cab and entered it into a National Meet. Talk about a conversation starter. Everybody wanted to gigg me for wrong generator, some saying it wasn't even Ford. The Deputy Judge knew exactly what it was but let the harangue go on for quite a while before he stepped in and explained it all to the judges, explaining it was acceptable on a car with a radio as well. I got a big kick out of the whole thing.

I have some military surplus units like the one pictured, bearing on the back, but the whole case is longer. So long infact, that they would hit the carb on a stock manifold. Never have figgerd out what they are for

If I had to guess, I'd say they were for one of the Universal Carriers or maybe even a Canadian Military Pattern truck. The later wartime stuff started using the 21A design front mount bracket that continued post war. The Canadians started making wartime stuff a lot earlier than we did.

I have some factory looking offset (rearward) carburetor risers, 2 different ones. I bet they're for applications such as this...
