Default Alternator Question

In June, TMURPH posted that his alternator was charging a constant 15 amps. A model A friend is having the same situation and just replaced his battery. He's also thinking of replacing the alternator. I value your thoughts on replacing the unit with a generator or another alternator.
We see that you can get an alternator in either 30 or 60 amps. What do y'all think.

30 amps is plenty for Model A. Before spending money, check ground connection between battery and frame. Bad ground connection can throw the voltage sensor off.

Also check the ground connection between the alternator and battery/frame/engine.

Check the alternator voltage with the engine running. If it’s 6.4 to 7.2 for 6 volt system or 12.8 to 14.4 for 12 volt system it’s not your alternator that’s the problem.
The amp meter shows what is going to (+ side of the meter) the battery or leaving the battery, (- side of the meter) Not the electrical load the vehicle is using.
You either have a high output voltage over charging the battery, a shorted battery cell, or a partial short in the battery charge circuit.

Thanks for your replies. Put in a new battery and ordered a new 30 amp alternator after speaking to one of the Snyder's experts. Between Snyder's and Ford Barn we keep these old cars running.
