Brake Adjustment- Brakes seem Hot
Howdy, I have adjusted my front brakes. Out on a test drive, I did some panic stops, the car stops great but the drums seem pretty hot. (150 degrees) I have cast iron drums. I'm using a Digital Thermometer check the Drums after a test stops. My question is How hot is too hot? Thanks in advance, Hugh

Re: Brake Adjustment- Brakes seem Hot
How are you "adjusting" your brakes?
Do all four 150 is no big deal when using the brakes, but if they get hot when you are not using them...

I don't think 150 is hot. If the brakes are working good and they don't drag when the wheel is spun, its good to go.

I have spinned Drivers side, good only a Very Faint drag. Passenger side spins good no drag at all. Going back out for another test run. Hugh |
