Default One way windshield wipers

My newly acquired '47 Ford coupe vacuum w/s wipers will work one way then stop, if I then turn the switch off, they will return to park position. Anyone ever have this problem? Any ideas for a fix? Thanks in advance, Steve.

Pull the vacuum hose odd and put a little automatic transmission fluid in the hose, and let it work its way to the vacuum motor paddle, then move the arm by hand a few times back and forth. This will lube it up and it should work fine when connected back to the hose.
