Default Re: 1954 ford engine color

I have the same engine, the color was actually described as "gold" by Ford, the valve covers are red, with emblems, and the aircleaner was red also, the breather was the same as the engine.

The colour of your 54 Ford 239 OHV - Y-block is without a doubt ivory - I have used packard ivory engine paint sold by Bill Hirsch you can find his ad in Hemmings and the colour is bang-on. The valve covers and the air cleaner are red and the correct decals are available from vendors such as Jim Osborne reproductions. Yes there is a 54 Ford club.
