Default Choke cable

Thanks for all the info on the lights. It was my switch. I replaced it. Now I'm trying to remove the choke cable from the dash. How do I do it? Has anyone done it? 55 Ford Vicky. Thanks.

Not familiar with a 55 Ford choke cable, but usually cables of that type have a nut behind the dash that you undo

To remove '55 Ford choke cable, first loosen one screw at the carburator choke lever (but do not remove the screw), then loosen the cable retainer bracket and pull the cable out thru the back of the bracket. Now go under the dash with an open end wrench and unscrew the hollow metal nut that holds the cable in the dash. At first just loosen the nut with a wrench, then you can get your hand in there and unscrew it the rest of the way. Once the nut is off, carefully pull the choke cable out of the dash and thru the firewall grommet, picking up the nut when it falls on the floor.
