Default Rivet length

Anyone know the correct "Brake lining rivet" length? You'r choices are..

1. 5-4
2. 5-4.5
3. 5.5

This is for A's..

4-5 3/8" length but need to be aligned perfectly straight, books say 5/16". also can go to "search" above and find more information type in" brake shoe rivets" or the like.

Thanks Gary !

After numerous e-mails and phone calls, plus reading we came up with "5-5"..
You could use the 4-5, BUT the head is a little small. I understand the shoe kits
are coming with too short of rivets,....5-4..

I'd like to thank..Rusty Nelson, Dan Partain, Steve Plucker and Marco Tahtaras..

I have been using the one that come in the kits with no issues (Snyder's). For this size rivet, diameter of the shank, the head should be the same size no matter if it's 5-4 or 5-5. The more important thing is the depth of the recess, it needs to be just a little deeper then the combined assembled parts so it can spread out and hold tight.
What rivet you use also depends on how deep the counter bore in the lining is, how thick the lining is and how deep the recess in the rivet is.

To help the uneducated like myself I assume the first number is in 32nds and the second number is in 16ths.

I looked at the Big Fat Rivet catalog, all brake rivets were shown with the same depth for the recess, .125 (well 4-6 anyway)
