Default Pressurized Radiator

A recent post about banger radiators brought up a suggestion of a 4# pressurized cooling system.

What would be a recommended size/volume of the overflow tank in such a system?

What would be the best location to mount the overflow tank in a regular Model A engine compartment with a hood?

Thank in advance Fordbarn.
Peace, Phred

Phred,

Go to Brasswork's web site:

https://www.thebrassworks.net/

Look under the heading of Parts and Pieces; you will find overflow tanks. I use the 15" stainless steel in my cars. The 13" would be large enough if you have a space problem.
At least one size of these same overflow tanks are available from Snyder's.

I mounted one on the firewall the other I mounted on the right side of the radiator.
Good Day!

On my roadster I filled the radiator and then ran it with the 4lb cap on until it quit leaking out the overflow. I then filled it again, noting how much it took.
That was the size overflow tank I needed.
