Default V8 Flathead Rebuilders Book

I have my 81A block back from the machine shop and all the parts to reassemble it. I seem to remember talk about a good flathead rebuilders book written by a member of this forum. Anyone have some direction for me? Thanks.

Most likely you are reffering to Ol Rons book and/or JWLs book.

Both of these are very good. Well worth reading. Lucky to have them both. Believe both are still in print.

A more recent one Bishop & Tardels one on the rebuilding the flathead V8. Excellent & comprehensive with tons of pictures. Best porting write up and photos I have seen.

FredB: Your best bet is to purchase all three of the books mentioned above. Each is unique in its own way, provides much more information than can be listed here, and are easy reads. John's book, in particular, may save you grief if you have plans to add performance upgrades. Well-researched and every bit of information backed by scientific proof and hands-on experience. Hope this helps!
