Re: Part I.D.,...Australian ?
The doors, I believe are Australian,...they have the piece of wood screwed too the
inner door panel.. I'll get some photos of the project in a day or two. Hoogah,...in the last photo, #5, is that just a flat piece of steel? Thanks, Dudley |

This part sits flat (horizontally) so that the tongue of the lock mechanism slides over the edge and is engaged behind it. From the look of it, the one in your photo would have to be mounted vertically so that the tongue of the lock engaged with the protruding section? Quite different. My curtain tray shows no evidence of any other piece ever having been screwed into the vertical edge of the wooden frame, as yours would be. Last edited by Hoogah; 12-13-2016 at 09:10 PM. Re: Part I.D.,...Australian ?
Just a chime in on Hoogah's behalf, as I know the car fairly well.
It is in fact the car in my avatar. His tank is dated june 28 also and it has a few Robertson screws here and there, so it points to a Canadian kit origin. It has written history to I think way before WW 2, but not as far back as new. |

Re: Part I.D.,...Australian ?
Iverson, that is interesting, I agree, thanks for showing it. The hinges look the same too from my previous research they look like the ones used on model t and are reproduced now in Sweden ! The floorboards are a different width so my guess is they were Australian sourced on ours.
Hoogah's car is a beauty and thanks for those pics too. Curious people might also be interested that on the rear of the front seat on Hoogah's car is a course carpet made out of jute like material. This is original and unique I believe to Australian 1929 phaetons. I have never been able to determine when this started (it was not on 28's I don't think) and may have only been on deluxe 29's - the deluxe was unique to Australia and had nickel plated windscreen pillars, windscreen, wind wings and luggage rack.
