There was someone here on Fordbarn, or maybe it was on Facebook, who started a project of reproducing the Clayborne Engine Stand. There were a good number of people who signed up with their interest in buying one, including me, but I never heard anything back from him. Maybe someone else here can provide an update on this.

Is that found on an original front fixture?

If so, can you tell if it was made from a rolled piece of flatbar and welded together?

It does NOT look like a rolled piece of flat stock to me... That is the hard piece to come up with. If I could find the right piece of pipe or round stock I could make up the front mount . The rear is a simple piece of Flat stock with the right size short pieces of pipe welded to it and the should bolts to mount it on the bell housing end Have the stand parts and they could built with angle iron and a good set of Casters. kerk

Yes the measurement was from an original Clayborne stand. I am home now and will check tomorrow on how the hoop was made.

The ring is a three piece casting, the two ears that bolt the ring to the front of the block, are welded to the ring. The ring itself is cast in one piece.

You can use them on the 49-53 block but you’ll need a truck or Mercury bell housing with the round transmission bolt pattern.

I would like to have a Clayborne engine stand. I have thought about trying to build one from scratch or maybe I will stumble across one at an auction sometime.

I have 4 Clayborne stands, and had etched factory tags reproduced, as I was missing a couple for my stands. If interested in a reproduction ID tag, PM me. Thanks, Doug
