Default Grease fitting on emergency brake toggle lever?

While rebuilding my brakes I realized that the emergency brake toggle lever apparently is supposed to have a grease fitting on the end of the shaft. The bushings do have a spiral groove inside to distribute the grease, the shaft is hollow and has a hole halfway down its length to allow grease to get to bushings. But, I do not see these grease fittings on any model A lubrication charts. What am I missing? We're these greased only once when new and then the holes sealed? Clearly this part does not get much use. I doubt that it needs lubed more than once every few years. Still, if a grease fitting is correct, why is it not on lubrication charts? I can find no mention of it in judging standards either.

It's a non-factory modification. Often added when the brakes are rebuilt.

Thanks. I suspected it could be something like that.

I noticed this same thing rebuilding my brakes a few weeks ago. In one of my restoration books it shows them installed so when I inspected my parts they of course we're not there. One arm had a pilot hole but it did not lead to anything. The other arm was smooth on the end with no pilot hole at all. So I just greased the shafts well before I installed them.

If something is a moving part and has no grease fitting, then it gets a squirt of oil, which will keep the rust at bay.

From mid 1928 through late 1928, vehicles had either a plain cone shaped or angled, drive type lubricator fitting in the shaft end of the emergency brake toggle leaver for lubrication purposes.
