Best first Repair Manual Book?

I am taking delivery of my 36 Pickup this weekend and I would like to get a good repair manual to get me started.

With the Model A fords the Les Andres series of books are superb.

I don't need instruction on how to tear down and rebuild the V8, but I would like to gt as much information as possible on tune ups and general maintenance.

Any suggestions?

An EXCELLENT first is the '36 manual once sold by NAPA, now reproduced and readily available. Book V-13 at C&G Ford.
On top of that, actually READ the owner's manual, which also has a LOT of good information. V-17 at same place is '36 passenger, entirely applicable to your pickup for everything involving care and maintenance.

After those 2 the sky id the limit...parts, service bulletins, the resto manuals, etc., but take the time to learn those two books first.

Aside from what's already posted, I'm a fan of Motor Manuals. I'm sure I'm biased, because that is what I worked with starting in the late 40's - early 50's. Easy to find used, old MM's via ebay, alibris, etc. The 1950 MM covers 1935 to 1950 - a good starting point.
This is not to 'diminish' what is posted above. Those manuals recommended by Bruce and GM/Coopman are probably more in line with what you requested.

Your right it was Victor Page. His son George took over the restorations but wasn't like his father. Clymer also produced Victor's book. G.M.
