Default fan belt advice

I need to put a new fan belt on my 31 town sedan. I'm running an alternator. Can anyone suggest which is the best belt to by (or a belt from a particular vendor). I see bratton's only sells one kind & Mac's has like 3 including one especially for car's with alternators. The belt on it now I think rides kind of high. Not sure where it came from. I do drive this car on the weekends but it's not a long distance tour car.

Thanks for your time.

Bryan

Most of the people I've seen running an Alternator are suggesting a Gates BX 40. Much more friendly with the smaller pulley.

Bratton's has a correct belt for the Model A. JMHO

I use the gates BX40. It has "teeth" on the inside, which allow it to make the bend around the small alternator pulley without over tightening the belt. This saves your water pump bearing.

I use the Dayco 23425 Top Cog Gold Series belt from Advance Auto Parts. It has cogs on both sides, and seems to grip my alternator pulley quite well.

I just bought a belt from Bratton"s and I sent it back. It was a 44" belt. Too long even for my car all standard pulleys. I bought a 43" from NAPA and it workred fine.
