Default Thread size for 36 water pump temperature sensor?

Does anyone know the thread size for the temperature sensor that goes into the left water pump?

I'm asking because I'm trying to see if this might be work around solution for the stock gauge.

It doesn't specify the thread size of the unit you're looking at, but it has a bushing that will allow it to fit two sizes. I'd be willing to bet that one of them will fit your car. (Ford made tractors too, you know.)

Rick, yes that will fit; it is the std 5/8 UNF thread as is the hole in your watewr pump

That "bushing" has to be used it has the seat for the bulb the seat against.

the 36 water pump provision also has the seat...you will not need the adapter that comes in the kit; the bulb and nut will directly fit the pump housing

I think that what is being pointed out in this thread, there's more than one type of water pump out there. Brian is correct. And, also some aftermarket pumps need that 'adapter' which has the seat in it. I've had both type of pumps for my 36, with at least the two different threads in them. Currently, I have a Fryer pump, which requires the adapter.
