NY to Bonneville and back
My 34 sedan hot rod ran 70-75 all the way. 265" 8BA. T-5 with 3.80 gears. 4400 miles over and back. It didn't like the 8000 foot summit on I-80 but she did ok with out the air cleaners (two 97s). I go out with a land speed car each year. This year we took the car out. Enjoyed watching Ronnieroadster and others. Our MEL engine threw a rod. Still a fast Edsel at 193.236.

Man I'm sorry to hear about the rod going out. That CAIR class is a tough one. Seeing alternate engine combinations is what that class is all about . Our first trip west in the Deuce I experienced that 8000 foot elevation on I-80. With so little air the engine was running really rich. For a bit I thought a carb float issue my first experience running a Hot Rod engine at high elevation. Good memory's for sure. Ronnie roadster

Butch, glad you and your son had a good journey. How many miles did actually get to put on your 34’ SD before you left ?

Re: NY to Bonneville and back
A buddy of mine went with the "circus" (Rolling Bones) this year riding shotgun. An experience he'll never forget.
