Default The 46 is running better.

I got my new rebuilt coil installed and also relocated the condenser. Then took the ole girl out for a long ride and then back to the shop turned it off and let it sit for a while and tried to start it and she fired right up. Drove back up town and filled her up with some shell premium. Took the ole ford back out for another long ride. It was in the high 80s today and it was running about 160 all day. Again drove back to the shop and shut her down and give it about 20 minutes and and from sitting the temp rose to 190. Tried to start it and again she fired right up. with no problem. How ever I started to drive over to my house and and she started bucking real bad like it was running out of gas reved it up a couple times and it cleared up and ran fine. It did this a couple more times today after shutting it down and letting it sit for a while and starting it back up. So I'm thinking the gas is boiling out of the carb now. I'm going to make me a 7x7 heat shield out of 1/4" aluminum tomorrow at work and see if that will helps. If I can figure out a way to keep the gas from boiling Ill have the thing whipped.

plug the heat riser ports in the intake manifold and put a 1/2" fiber spacer under the carb

Wasting your hard earned dollars there.

Believe me I don't make a habit of it. I think that is the first time I put premium in it. when this tank is MT it will be back to reg.

Contact Bob Shewman [email protected] 1-610-933-6637 for a 1/2 insulated spacer, close the heat riser holes from .625 to .375 and your problem should be solved. G.M.
