Is this a knockoff Fumaze? Any info?
Saw this on evilbay last week and I usually don’t buy stuff off there but it looked like a Fumaze knockoff of sorts and caught my attention. Plus it was only $20 so what the heck 1/7 of the price of the Fumaze and I’m sure I can find a pipe in the garage to replace the missing one. I is made out of cast iron/steel I’m not sure but it isn’t aluminum. Does anyone have any info on it or have seen one? It has the word Breather cast into the side. Thanks in advance Ben

I wouldn't call if a Fumaze knockoff. It is just another aftermarket oil filler/breather tube accessory from back-in-the-day. More than a few different ones were made for the "A". I had also had my eye on it on
greedBay, but decided against it. Bob-A |

Haha that is funny I was kinda on the fence about it also hoping I would find a Fumaze cheap at a swap meet soon. I thought my luck is I buy this one and I will find a cheap Fumaze that isn’t $140.
My main question is do you put some sort of filter element in the door or just leave it open? |

? The door opens so you can add oil. No filter in it.

Ya I that were my thoughts about the door as well. Does the Fumaze have a filter element or just a door that opens to fill up with oil. The tube is just to redirect blow by/ fumes toward the ground? I guess I didn’t know if it had some sort of filter to filter the oil out and keep it contained in the engine.

IMO the Fumaze (and knock offs) are a good thing as they act as a Road Draft Tube and help extract BAD things from your crankcase left over from the combustion process (water, unburned H/Cs, acids, etc).

The Ford cap did not come with a filter. Some people do add 1/2 or a REAL COPPER chore boy scrub pad. The baffles in the tube were meant to keep the oil in and let the fumes out.
