I have a '71 mustang with the 351C 4V quench heads. Stock timing for this engine is also 6 deg. It is a stock engine and I advanced it to 12 deg. and it loved it. You want more advance if you have open chamber heads. Depending on the year of your engine, '69-'71 clevelands have prety beefy cams and higher compression. These engines typically like around 10 -15 degrees of intial advance. '72 and on clevelands have a 2 deg. retard on the cam and comp. ratios in the 8's and these guys like less advance.
