about how long do they last usually a new one was put on about 2 maybe 3 years ago.

Have you recently washed your motor or has it sat out in the rain ?? Check your distributor cap for condensation on the inside. Module SHOULD last a lifetime BUT have had them bad from the factory. Also the same with the module in the distributor. Good Luck RW

Have you checked the fuel filter and checked all vacuum hoses?

How about the tank and line, any sediment or possibility of a partially plugged line?

the engine hasn't been washed or been out in the rain lately and i didn't see any condensation under the cap

i thought i had it fix with changing the coil but after five miles it was back to the same problems again. A carburator rebuild kit seems to have fix the problem...at least it made it running longer than five miles. so i will have to see.

i would like to thank everyone for the suggestions.
