1947 Lincoln Zephyr
I have a barn find 47 H series V12 with 22,970 original miles. The vehicle was last driven in 1964. I have no keys to the car. The trunk is locked. My question is what is the truck button function? Is it electric or hydraulic? The button does not work. The hydraulic system is dry but most of the electrical works. Could the trunk be currently unlocked needing only the button to open?
Many more questions! Thank You Ron Last edited by RonC; 10-01-2020 at 05:56 AM. |

Re: 1947 Lincoln Zephyr
Not an expert here but I looked over the electrical drawings. The hydraulic system is for the windows, I saw no switch for the trunk or electrical wiring in the trunk for an opener. For Ford from the factory the door lock key also operates the ignition. The glove box key operates the trunk. Suggest you remove a door cylinder and the glove box lock to have keys made. Both may have a key code stamped into their body. See the other posting regarding keys that is up now. Either John or Phil may be able to cut a key to your codes. Suggest you contact them first since they may not have Lincoln code books.

Re: 1947 Lincoln Zephyr
The glove lock may not have a code and yet a key may be made for it, there are several factors.

Hi Ron, you may want to try The Early Ford V8 site; they have a Lincoln section........

Not an expert, but by the late 40's,Art Deco styling was a thing of the past. I believe the car was styled in the "Streamline Moderne" fashion, long horizontal lines. Either way i dig it. Tom |
