Default Need help with name of a part

Hi All,
I have to replace a u-joint and I am looking at Les Andrews book page(1-348) and I am trying to order what he calls the grease seal for the outer cover. I would like to order it through Snyder's but I can't seem to find it. Is there another name for this grease seal?

Thanks,
Denny

Give Snyder's a call. I'm sure they know what you need.

The piece I am looking for is a two piece thin cork.

The picture that Marco posted is what you want.
Over the years many diff materials have probably been used trying to "improve" on the original. What will work is in that U-joint gasket set.
Some of the EV8 guys are using a rubber o'ring with good luck.

The pic is misleading. If you look closely you will see there are two strips side by side. The original part was "A-4515 Universal joint housing cap felt".

I am a little confused. Please be patient with me as this is my first Model A and all this is a learning experience. I do have the u-joint gasket kit. Please see my picture as I am confused if the felt is in the right place. Also, do I need to change the thin cork piece in the top picture?

Thanks,
Denny

the cork is where the felt is supposed to go, take it out and lay the felt in it.
i had a hard time trying to do my 28 AA ujoint housing. i was at a hat makers on a tour and asked if he had any scrap felt, i cut some strips about an inch wide and then folded them in half and stuck the sides into the groove, it looked good, tightened tight so i know it will seal good
