Default skirts

Question, are the fender skirts on a 53 customline the same as crestline?

Yes, the 1953 Ford Rear Fender Shields are the same for all models

Greetings,
I inherited these skirts with my 52 Mainline. As you can see they don't have a raised lip across the center.
I don't know if the Crestline would be different in 52. Due to rust and terrible body repair work, my fenders are shot around the wheel wells, so I can't fit them on Buelah.
Do the 54's have an even different style?? JPL

Accessory 1954 Ford Rear Fender Shields list the same Part Number as the 1953 Shields.
It is strange but no Rear Fender Shields are listed in the 1952 Ford Accessories Brochure?

I think there were also some aftermarket manufacturers back then like Foxcraft cranking them out for various '50's cars and Fords for sure.

Before you buy skirts, be sure the rear quarter panels wheel openings are correct. If poor body work has been done, factory type skirts may not fit....been there. Ended up using Foxcraft skirts which go over the opening.

This is the only picture of a 1952, 1953 or 1954 Ford shown in the original Sales Brochures wearing Rear Fender Shields.
Notice the close-up shot of the Rear Fender Shield.
When you look on the internet, different styles are shown.
If someone wants Genuine Ford Fender Skirts, please do your homework before buying a Pair

1953 Ford Customline with Rear Fender Skirts. These appear to be correct.

By comparison, check out this 1954 Ford Sunliner with Rear Fender Shields.
They are deeper than the ones on the 1953 Ford? Are they correct?

This appears to be an artist's rendition.

This is the Back Cover - 1954 Ford Sales Brochure.
It features all Artists Renditions, some better than others.

I do have them on my car now but one side has a bad lever and it won't tighten. I did find a new set that match.

Those without the lip are Mercury skirts.

Thanks for the info. Just looked at pics of 52 Mercs and that is what I have. Interesting thing, all the p/n's on the brackets start with a 51. Just got a toothbrush dirty... JPL

Foxcraft made the wider skirts. The skirts from Ford were the narrow ones.

I Put a Nice set of Skirts on my 40. Too bad that they were such a pain to put on, that they ended up in the garage attic
