Default Front Kick Panel Repair

The drivers side front kick panel in my 31 coupe has been unintentionally kicked a number of times while driving. The kick panel is cardboard stock covered with a fake leather grain material. The lower section which is near the clutch pedal is where the scuff damage is located. Does anyone have experience with making a repair like this besides buying a new one?
Thanks

To my knowledge the original embossed cardboard is no longer available, so they make them as you described, with the vinyl cover. You might call Classtique upholstery and ask Mike for a piece of vinyl to glue on after removing the damaged one.

Another thought would be to put a small piece of rubber or adhesive backed felt, along the lower section where it getting bumped. To protect the panel for the future.

I've had grained leather and vinyl on furniture spot "reconditioned " due to scratches/scuffs at furniture re-upholstery shops. Hard to spot the repairs unless in bright light and really looking for it. Works best if damage to material is minor and not torn/gouged. Or perhaps an auto upholstery shop.
