Default Frame value??

Hello, I bought some property that has this old frame on it. I was told after posting it on CL that it's a 35-40 frame. Could anyone tell me a specific year and value of it? I'd greatly appreciate it!

Specifically, it is 1935 Ford. It will fit '35 to '40 with some modifications. Value depends to some extent on location. Please identify your location.

The wheels may be worth more than the frame, depending on condition.

I agree the value may be in the wire wheels but it definately has been modified to haul wood. Welded on bunks and the dead-ex prices of pipe. I think “everything” is worth “something” but somebody may have to look hard for any value there..... Mark

yup, its a 35. i have had many farm wagons like this. my experience has been, first, wheels that have sat for decades with a flat tire on, holding water, are usually junk. frames are usually heavily welded up and bent from overloading, however yours does not appear to be rusted out. rear axles haven't seen any lube since the time when it was still a car, thus no usable parts inside, and front axles are usually all bent and welded up with steering gear. is it worth anything? sure it is. rear wishbones are in demand, frame? probably better than what some poor guy is trying to fix. 400 on craigslist, put flathead in the title so it comes up in the search. also put your general location in your avitar and maybe some one close by is looking at it right now

It all points to 1935 as far as I can tell. Deep corrosion pitting devalues a frame a lot. One with members that are not cracked nor too badly corroded are generally worth a few hundred bucks. If the frame had a usable number stamped on it then it could be worth more. The 1935/36 axle bells and radius rods are also worth some scratch if in decent shape. They are the strongest bones Ford made in the 30s & 40s.

Haha. Well, my buddy bought a super nice (I mean NICE!) roller frame like yours at Hershey for $550. I hope you didn't pay too much for yours.

I'm not too optimistic that the rear gears will be any good the way the transmission end is up in the air like that. More than likely, water got down in there.

I'm not trying to sound snide, but in that condition and having been welded on. It's not going to bring a lot of money. It has some value to the right person as has been stated. I just don't see more than a couple hundred dollars there if the rear end has not been full of water. The wheels might bring that if they aren't pitted badly. Also, I'm guessing you don't have a title.

I'm with you on this. Maybe, and I mean MAYBE $200. That frame looks like poopy to me. The deep pitting typically means there's more hidden. By "more" I mean BAD.
Keep looking my friend...

It's probably bent out of shape by severe overloading. I would say, though, the usual rust out between the inner and outer frame sections where they bend upwards at the rear kickup look ok. I can't see DEEP pitting or any rust through.

The frame would be useful for someone needing repair sections for a badly rusted frame where keeping the original frame numbers is desirable, or for instance someone with a roached out or missing center section, like my 41 had.

It still don't make it worth a fortune, $100 to $300 depending how resourceful the buyer is at harvesting any parts.

It doesn't even have the 37 spindles, but it does have the 35 drums which someone may want if they can be brought back to roadworthy condition.

I'd buy it if it were here in England and cheap enough, but we're starved of any good stuff over here and have to try and make the most of anything that comes up.

Mart.

I’d be interested in the rearmost crossmember if in decent shape if you decide to part it out. . My 35 rear crossmember is toast.

For a period street rod everything is there. $350 is fair imho.

Yes, and those 35/36 rear bones are pretty desirable, I’ve seen those sell for a few hundred by themselves, in good shape.

Sell it for whatever you can get for it - even $100 - just to make it go away.

Sorry Folks, it's in Cassville Missouri, deep southwest of the state. I'd like to see it gone, but at the same time I'd like to get it's value since it's not hurting anything sitting there, and is kind of a cool piece of history.
Would anyone on here be interested in it? And yes, no title. I think when it was drivable, the people who drove it lived in the house as seen in pictures, title long gone.

Get the serial number off the left frame rail to verify it's a 40.

It's not a '40 frame. Everything on it points to a '35.
