I'm trying to salvage a late 31 firewall and found what appears to be reinforcing plates inside where each radiator support mounts. Is this original?

Funny you should ask now because just this morning I was looking for a different picture and came across these 2 and wondered if I shouldn't post them to show what the plates look like.

Just so others don't get confused, these plates were first put into production on the flat firewalls in October 1930
