Default boring out the block

i a m going to have the block borred out for new pistons alum ones i want to knew how much clearance i will need so i can tell the machine shop as they have never done any thing this old just want to be sure it is right its a 26 four door thanks mike

Buy the pistons and give the pistons with the block to the machine shop. That way they will know what to do. Otherwise, you take your chances.

Just make sure they give you at least 5 thousands clearance.

Most piston manufacturers will give you the recommended piston to wall clearence with the new pistons.that varies by manufacturer based on the expansion rate of their product.
