Help in removing door latch
I am trying to remove the passenger door latch from my 1929 Coupe. I finally had success in removing the four screws with the help of an impact screwdriver. I thought "ah ha!" now it will just come straight out. However, I cannot seem to get it past the lip of the door. Is there a trick to getting it past the door skin seen in the photo? I can't get it angled far enough to get it out.

Re: Help in removing door latch
Not meaning to ask a foolish question, but are you sure the exterior handle and the inner linkage is removed?

Re: Help in removing door latch
Yes, everything is disconnected.....I got the outside handle off very easily. Nothing else is connected to it. The door latch rod isn't in the way. The whole assembly is loose, it just won't come out.

pull the latch towards you and push in on the retaining spring and it will come out
