If you have made a purchase, rather than a money transfer, then put in an incident with PayPal.

If PayPal keep closing the job, and you have paid by PayPal from a credit card, then also raise a job with the credit card. Then the credit card has to talk to PayPal and raise a job. That one should stay open till something happens.

When I was ripped off by a large computer company D... I put in a job to the credit card, a guy from the credit card rang me in a rage about PayPal taking all this money and not doing anything. So he said he would withdraw the credit card transaction till they did something. That's what he did. The job with PayPal then stayed open. Eventually it worked out, but I'm not sure who refunded the overcharge. I doubt D... paid up as they are very tricky to deal with. D... tried to get me to close the PayPal job.

I am about 45 minutes from there, but honestly I am not in the PI business. My wife does know one that they use for their work. I can have her check but in all likelyhood he will charge a fee.
Stinks that you got the shaft, but if I were you I would still hold out a bit of hope.
I sent a part to Aus last fall and was quoted 6 weeks the guy got the package in 5 days!

I looked the address up on Zillow there is a house on the property a couple of trailers and pickups,so it is not an empty lot.Whether Steven lives there or not is another story, wish you luck hope it was not a con.

Is your credit card involved with the PayPal transaction ? If so, contact the cc company, they should help you out.

IMO, dealing with foreigners is always risky no matter what country they are from. Too often, they think they can get away with all sorts of $#!T just because the person they are dealing with is so far away. That said, I have done it lots of times and have been fairly lucky.
Derek, you are often in the US - does this fellow know that? wink, wink - nudge, nudge!

synchro 51 visits to date had 8 weeks planed this year, BUT frekin virus has put paid to that , hears hoping 2021 but if airfares are what im hearing once flying again they are over 5 times previous charges, only time will tell, Currently if you could get out its 2 weeks quarantine on return at a cost of $4000, per head, we may have had the best times ???

Indeed! I think you might be right and the US is likely to be the last country we can go - things are so out of control there. No one is allowed into Australia without 2 week's isolation at their own expense either.
As for high air fares, I suspect that to get people flying again, they will be low for a while. Time will tell.

Here's your "friend" Steven's Facebook page if that might be of any help:
https://www.facebook.com/steven.jayne.10

I didn't see any Model A's in his "collection" and not really the old Ford BBQ collector kinda guy I would guess.

He works as a welder for this company so you might be able to track him down there:
https://tankservicellc.com

I hope your Ford BBQ eventually arrives, but in the mean time why not file a claim through PAYPAL for an undelivered item. If the seller can not produce a shipment tracking number to verify that the item was shipped and received, then you should be able to get your payment back from PAYPAL at least (unless you sent your payment as "Friend" or "Family" in which case you will not get reimbursed by PAYPAL).

What is the eBay item number of your missing Ford BBQ? Perhaps it will show up again on eBay for sale a second time!

Was it one of these Ford BBQ's:

Best of luck.
