Spark Starter
Last weekend I bought a Spark Starter at a garage sale. It was made by Saunders - Allen Company from Memphis, Tenn. It's in the original box (well most of the box) and it says "For Model A Ford." The original price, printed on the box, is $1.50. It says "Snaps on in a jiffy, No screws, no bolts." Says "The spark lever operates the starter. The regular starter still operates freely. Not necessary to replace any standard Ford part." It's three metal pieces hinged in the middle and a rubber grommet. Anybody know what this is?
Sorry, I can't seem to post a picture. Marty |

Re: Spark Starter
Maybe like an up-start, an accessory to activate the starter by just pushing the spark advance lever all the way up.

Re: Spark Starter
J,
That's what it looks like to me. The box says "Copyright 1930", but there are no directions with it. It's not a big deal, I only paid two bucks for it. Marty |

Re: Spark Starter
Put the pieces near the starter and see what makes sense.

Re: Spark Starter
Charley,
Thanks for the help. A few of us have looked this gadget over and think maybe there are parts missing. Glad I don't have a lot in it. One of my friends thinks maybe the box is worth more than the gadget! Marty |
