The hubcaps are in great condition on the 53 Monterey, but previous owners polished the red paint right off them

The spare was "spared" the love and attention and retains its original color and paint. I want to repaint the caps but I'm not sure what to use that will hold up, plus adhere to the stainless caps. Any suggestions?

These are the dog dish hubcaps, but the color is the same on the large caps: One Shot - Maroon. It is a sign painters paint, it stick to Stainless or glass. The rims are the original Ford/Mercury - Vermilion.

Since I am running radials, I have a nice collection of them, serving as wall art, in the garage.

Picture shows the 1952 Mercury 15" Hubcap. While the 1952 and 1953 Mercury Hubcaps are identical in shape, the outside rings are not painted on the 1952 Mercury Hubcaps, however, the outside rings were painted for the 1953 Mercury Hubcaps.

I'll be painting the centers around Mercury, but I don't have the super steady hand to paint the outer rings. I'd eff that up for sure

My wife painted my hubcaps. Her hand is allot steadier that mine. Any good sign painter could do it not problem.

Were the rims paint red in 52''?
