Default Anyone know how to renew NJ QQ (antique) plates?

Hi All:

According to all of the information I've read on-line at the State's DMV webpage, QQ (antique) plates need to be renewed every three years. It says repeatedly there is no fee for the renewal.

My registration is up in April '21, but I haven't found any information explaining the actual renewal process.

Any NJ Barners done this recently?

Thanks,

Tim

Why not go right to the horses mouth and ask the DMV office ? That way you have the most current procedure.

Due to COVID, you have to make an appointment. You can’t walk in to a DMV at this point. I’d like to get my ducks in a row before I do that. I’ll try calling the State DMV on Monday

Tim,
you should get a renewal in the mail. Just asks yes or no if you want to renew. Send it back and registration comes back in the mail.
The one nice thing about NJ is a one time payment for reg and then it is free forever........
supposedly. Also, renewal should be every 4 years, as I recollect, unless things have chnged?

They should send you a notice if they require you to update records.

Thanks all. It's not expired until April so I have time. I just didn't want it to lapse.

They'll mail you a renewal just like Ronn said. I think they are behind. I have a boat due in April and didn't get the reg. renewal yet. I got the trailer and it took weeks to get it back. They usually process early and fast....standby.... I hope.

You must have missed or the post office lost the renewal form.

They just want the basic info plus I think they want to know the current color.

I am a NJ resident too.

Hey something good in NJ. I went online to MVC and did my boat on line without the renewal cert. in hand. You can follow the directions...it asks for the PIN but you just click you don't have a PIN and it generates one for you.. I know it says you need the renewal form, but just click the begin button and it works easy.
