Re: what caused radiator failure?
My Findings
I’ve had conciderable time to think about the radiator failure and a report from the repair shop and some good advise from you readers in this forum. This vehicle is fitted with a float a motor kit which allows just a slight bit of movement of the engine forward because of the rear cross spring and to the right resulting from engine torque. This movement is transmitted to the underside of the return inlet at the top radiator tank where the leak occurred. On replacing the radiator I used a softer synthetic rubber which will allow better flexibility but still not sufficient in my opinion. I am interested to know if any reader has found a soft and concertinaed hosewhich will good flexibility. Well since writing the above I enquired with ebay and found exactly what I was asking. Picture below.
