Is there a difference between an A and an AA front cross member for late 28 29. TIA

Yes, the AA is thicker and larger than the A front cross member.

Yup what he said.

Be aware the early ones had no reinforcing plate riveted to the inside where the spring rides. Later 29's do and for good reason.
