I thought 1936 was the first year for the banjo steering wheels on Fords.

Here's a smaller diameter 40 wheel I made for my 40
sedan delivery with a 350 Chevy engine. For sale if
anyone is interested. [email protected]

Not mine but found this pic awhile back. I would like to cover mine like this, when I get a round to it....looks good compared to the generic leather steering wheel wraps.

Thanks for the replies. I think a thicker rim will be easier to grip with these old fingers while wrestling the arm strong steering.

I sent my 39 Banjo to a company in Detroit that did some OEM work and they did custom wheels on the side. Sent them the wheel and some leather that matched my interior and they did a great job. It's been 10 years and it still looks great. The man that lined me up with the company has passed so I have no idea how the contact them.

Wheelskins can supply a leather cover to fit your wheel. Just give them the dimensions and they will make one up.

They made one up for my 54 Ford. I gave them the dimensions and the fit was perfect. Good leather too - been on the car for about 10 years with no sign of wear.

Thanks another option. Did the cover fit up to the spokes? Oh oops probably not a banjo style wheel.
