The Ford Barn

Ha! I'm willing to bet most of you guys figured it was yet another '39 or '40 Ford.
Nope, not even close.
This car was purchased from the original owner in 1968 and has been in our family since then.
I'd restored it in 1997 as I recall - maybe '96. It was driven about 250 miles over the next eight years or so and put back in storage. Just today, I have finally brought it home.
It was an extremely solid car... zero wood rot, the only rust was in the front fender spare tire mount wells.
In fact, the upholstery was so exceptionally nice, I did not replace it. Even the silk shades in the rear seat are are authentic and beautiful.

Please don't hate me as I have strayed.

Gorgeous, GM or not. I've always liked the five-passenger coupes of the early '30s and once had a '31 Lincoln version.

This is a series 90 opera coupe. 132" WB.
I can't think of any car company that didn't build beautiful cars in '31 - '32.
I still have one car (just one) remaining on my bucket list. A '32 CL Chrysler Imperial Roadster on a "short" 146" WB. Even when new, those cars were more rolling art than a vehicle.

My '31(s) have an even "shorter" WB of a mere 145". Regardless, they are all pretty handsome of that era (and take up a lot of space in a garage.)

Beautiful car! I agree that early 30's styling among the car companies of that era remains to this day unmatched. It's amazing these were created during the Great Depression. How about some more pics of that Buick?

There is something special about those classic era long wheel base cars. I played with Packard's for a short while, had a 134"er, and a 126" er. long hoods...rode like a magic carpet ride. you knew you were in a rich mans car. The 90 series Buicks are right up there on that same scale. congrats Kube, nice car

No computer aided anything. Artist/engineers with pencils working 12 hour days.

Fabulous car Mike, I love the colors. I'm with you on the Chrysler too except it would be this 32 Chrysler Convertible for me AND a 1933 Dietrich Victoria Packard as for NON Lincoln classic's go!!!
