Rather than take over another thred ,Over here can buy sheets of hard card with a black chicken type pattern from the upholstery suppliers the same as what would be used on a pick up headliner , we made a cowl liner with it on a 34 - 1935 from memory made it in two bits we notched out the join in the center and riveted 4 strips of tin to strength en it close to the join then w bondod the join on the face while it was in the car ,you could use tough deck spray to disguise or blend it in at the join ,it been there thirty years ,in good shape I could put up a drawing if needed ,
