Default '35 parking brake floorboard boot plate questions

I'm restoring the floorboard/trans cover area in my '35 5 window. This plate is part of the parking brake lever assembly. Can someone tell me -- first of all -- should it have this bend in it? (My brother is building a '36 and his is flat).

How does it orient to the metal trans cover? To the rubber boot? Or does it? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

it should be flat like your brothers...it sits, round end facing front, between the 'felt' type insulator and bottom of transmission [floorboard] cover. Or, I position my one there...seems like it fits best there.

That’s what I was guessing — but seems like a potentially annoying rattle.

Originally there was no rubber boot on the hand brake handle.

It is a relatively tight fit on the handle and as a result not prone to rattling.
