upper radiator hoses
hi barners, i ordered 2 radiator hoses from joe's antique today. wondering how much coolant to drain from radiator to replace both upper hoses? iv'e had the'37 fordor for two years and havn't had to do any coolant work yet. i hope i can get the pet cock to shut off after draining a little coolant. thanks in advance, tom. oh also ordered 2 160 deg. thermostats. how are those supposed to be installed.

Re: upper radiator hoses
I believe you should use 180° thermostats. 160° is a little cool IMHO.

Re: upper radiator hoses
Agree, 160 is a bit cool, I would use 180 min, 185-190 better.

180 on the stat. but the ones you bought will get the temperature up as quickly but not as high. I have 160 degree ones in my A and I don't worry one bit. |
