Default New Tire Recommendation

I am thinking about replacing my 20 year old Firestone tires on my 31 coupe and looking for the latest recommendations. Tires are not worn out, just old. I would be interested to find out any of your recent experiences purchasing tires. Radials? New tubes? Thank you in advance for any advice.

Lots of tire reviews here. Many go with the lookalike radials. Try doing a search.

I just replaced mine with a new set of goodyear bias tires from coker. They feel great and look great.

Since you did not wear out your existing tires after all those years, durability is not as important. If your not concerned about judging, I would suggest a very reasonable choice. The Lucas tires are only $100 a piece. I really like mine. They ride nice and they didn't even need to be balanced. Easy to mount yourself when you use the trash bag trick. Really a decent tire and thrifty.

Brattons sells the best tubes!

I agree with Russ and I really like the looks of the Lucas Tire which is important to me. Some of the more expensive tires just don't apeal to me.

My truck had been running on Brazilian made Goodyears from 1978 when I brought it home. I like the diamond tread pattern, but the price of new Goodyears is prohibitive so I opted for European Classics which have the diamond tread for about the same price as the Lucas tires. While at it, had the wheels powder-coated and found a set of Delrin coated lug nut sockets at HF to keep from dinging up the wheels.

I bought a set of Goodyears and I am very satisfied. Check all suppliers as some offer free shipping.

Basically, you lay a large garbage bag over the wheel, as it lays on a carpet floor. The slippery nature of the bag allows you to slip the tire over the rim by hand with no tools.

I went with Cokers WW 19" radials, new tubes, metal stems and love them.

Been running the american classic radial tires with the proper tubes from Coker. Smoothed out the ride and have not had any issues so far. I mounted with tire irons and plenty of talc per Coker and they were easy to mount. Set them at 32psi and check them every time I take a ride.

Do us all a favor, and tell us what choice you made, whatever it is. Just curious.
