Re: Brake flaring tool & tube straightener suggestions
Tim, I bought one at Napa for $50. Simple two piece that has a two stage operation to do a double flare. I will get a model number and picture here in a bit. Some stores have tools to loan. If not you are welcome to use mine. Should ship OK in a USPS flats rate env. 8 bucks each way. I use a harbor freight bender and various objects for odd bends. Also helps to use a piece of solid elect wire to pattern the tube.

Spoke to my buddy who is a Snap-On dealer. He is going to loan me their top of the line flare making tool, so I think I'm set. I have the benders, just need the flare tool. I have an idea how I can make a straightener as well. Post like yours is why I love the Barn. So many great people in this hobby! Thank you and stay safe!!!! |

Re: Brake flaring tool & tube straightener suggestions
To straighten tubing:
Attach one end of the roll to something which will not move (like a tree) Unroll the tubing and attach other end to a come-along Attach come-along to another tree Tighten the come-along to stretch out the tubing. It will be straight. |
