Good Quality Light switch
Doe's anyone know of someone that is making a good quality Light switch. Mostly the part that attach's to the bottom of the steering column. The Aftermarket one I have is quite poorly made. The parts are loose and poorly made. Thanks for your help.

Re: Good Quality Light switch
Yep, check with your favorite parts vendor as they are just now hitting the market. We have installed two of them thus far.

The reason I ask is that I am a newcomer here and I have a '29 Tudor that I recently acquired and it came with a repro switch and harness combined. The harness itself was pretty good workmanship, but the connectors on the switch seemed to be just crimped on, or if they were soldered, it was not with any amount of solder that I could really detect. Maybe they were spot-welded. The lights were dim and I had made sure I had good grounds all the way around, so that left the switch. I soldered all the connections and then the dim issue went away. I have no idea where the former owner(s) of my car got the switch or when, but there was enough engine compartment dirt on the sheath that I could tell it had at least been a few years ago. An addendum to my question is if there is a new wave of switches hitting the market, are they going to be at all the sellers, I.E. Bert's, Snyders, etc? I would imagine that those outlets probably have a common source....? |

Yes, you should be able to get them from the better dealers such as the ones you mentioned above. Click here: http://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/light-switch-body https://www.brattons.com/new-parts/usa-light-switch-body.html . |

Re: Good Quality Light switch
1928 and early 29 would be as you and I have. When the "TWOLITE" headlamps came out in early 1929 the switch was changed to this style.

Re: Good Quality Light switch
Since your question was not really answered, you have three options for light switches.
Option one- Tawian Made switch- About $20- Will work, but not well. Option two- Just made this last month, a better quality USA made Switch- About $50- works good Option three- Original Ford Made switch- About $75- works perfect. Regarding the above comment about wiring harnesses. Their are several wiring harnesses being made. Some are good - soldered connections - about $60. Some are not so good- crimped connections- About $50 The choices are available- you just have to choose what quality you want, and how much you want it. We have all in stock.
