Default Are all 28-29 gas tanks the same?

I am looking for a decent gas tank for me Oct 28 Leatherback.. The parts books I have seem to indicate that all the 28-29 tanks are the same. I have also heard that cars like mine with the concealed tank used a different fuel tank. Does anyone for sure?
Thanks,
Suoergnat

Don't know who told you that the "concealed tanks" are different than the "seen" tanks but they are wrong...The fuel tanks went through many changes in 28-29 due to FORD's improvements in the tank itself.

All 28-29 tanks will fit a 28-29 vehicle HOWEVER not all 28-29 tanks were the same.

You want to get a tank that fits your timeperiod for your car.

Go to my website and review all the gas tank data and articles...this way you will be sure to get the right tank for your car.

However...if you are not a picky type of guy, a 1928 tank will fit in a 1929 vehicle.

Thanks so much for the reply Steve. The data I found on your link was very helpful..My car has 10 2 28 tank date. It has the long carb adjustment bracket and u shaped opening. Based on what I read I can probably use any tank dated between May 28, 1928 and Oct 5, 1928. Tanks between Sep19, 1928 and Oct 5, 1928 would be best. Thanks again for your excellent help.
