Reading a 'teens automotive book. Three grades of gasoline then, Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 3, priced accordingly. Cheapest, (and poorest), was Grade 1. This admonishment about using Grade 1, "if vehicle hasn't been driven for a week or so, it is advised that the gasoline be stirred as it will be found that the coal oil has settled to the bottom of the tank and will be the first to reach the carburetor, resulting in difficult starting and decreased performance".
