Default Turn signal issue.

I have installed turn signals using LED front bumper mounts and LED tail lights on both sides. I have a shaft mounted lever switch and have the flasher unit with the extra ground. Everything works beautifully until I start the car and then nothing flashes. Tried running it through the switch, through the battery. Ground through the body and to the battery direct. nothing changes. Why am I having such trouble with the engine running.

Put a regular flasher in it -- one without the pigtail ground. That fixed mine.

I will try that. I had one originally but they would not flash at all. I was told it was because of the LEDs. I don't get why they work with the engine not running but not with it running. What's the connection?

Some one else may chime in that has LEDs, I don't. (yet!) There's something about that electronic flasher that just didn't work (while the engine was running), so I just went back to the original thermal type.
