Default dimmer switch 40-41

Arrrgh, I have tried 2 different aftermarket dimmer switches, each seem to not work or fail after a short amount of use. Anyone had good luck with one that they would recommend?

thanks in advance.

If you mean the head light dimmer switch this one looks promising as it was made back in the day as a replacement.

Plus, there are a few for sale in the Swap Section. Just type in dimmer switch.

His foot is too big to fit between the clutch and the kick panel.

For the record regarding location of the dimmer switch hole:

The dimmer switch on my early model year '41 is lower on the floorboard; slightly below the clutch pedal hole. When I bought a replacement floorboard advertised to fit '41 to '48, the unit I received had the dimmer hole much higher up on the floorboard. I recall that from the '48 I owned 60 years ago as being correct position for that car. The wiring for the dimmer on my '41 would not reach far enough, so I cut a hole lower in the floorboard. That location is easier to reach but also subject to inadvertent activation.
